Adam Day 2017

Keynote by Mr. Khwaja Shamsuddin Azeemi

`

Respected ladies & gentlemen
Assalamu Alaykum (Peace be to you all).

In Qur’an and other heavenly scriptures, God says that Adam was taught the knowledge of the Attributes of God.

This thus establishes two aspects of man’s being, one where he is at the animal level, and the other where he holds the prime most position in the universe. We may call the former aspect as ‘man’, and the later as ‘human’. As human, man has been taught the Knowledge of God’s Attributes, which has not been granted to any other beings in the universe.

It is our aim to create awareness and educate mankind, through the Adam Day event, about the difference between ‘man’ and ‘human’. All the conflicts, fights, hatred, divisions are ‘man’-created; To free ourselves from this painful situation, we must turn to our ‘human’ aspect, as it is through this that love and peace will prevail and for that we need to learn the spiritual knowledge, to develop a proper understanding of the heavenly scriptures. We can also achieve peace and harmony on earth through following the teachings of the prophets of God, sent to all nations throughout the world.

May God help us realize the difference between ‘man’ and ‘human’, and help us become humans. May God, keep you all happy. My greetings and regards to all.

Summary of event

Adam Day 2017 California event was held in the city of Livermore. Program started at 7:00 pm. The host Mr. Mohammad Mudassir Azeemi welcomed the guests and gave an introduction of Adam Day and its objectives.

The program started with the recitation of passages from Quran, Bible, Torah, and Bhagawad Gita presented by Shumaila Kashif Azeemi. The message was love, peace and unity among all religions and school of thoughts of the world.

The first guest speaker of the evening Jonathan Bowman shared his thoughts with the audience. Mr. Bowman said that its very common for us to neglect an incident if that happens to someone we don’t care about until it happens to us or someone that we know. Our life philosophy makes us judgmental and that’s how we come up with the negative or positive attitude towards other people. We don’t treat them the way we should in the first place. Once, I heard about someone who was injured in the line of duty and I didn’t pay attention to news because I was unaware that that person was a close friend of mine, only then I visited him. Diversity is not something you do, it’s not a choice, diversity is a way of life that will open a whole new world to you. So I challenge you to change your me’s into we’s and start living life as life was meant to live as many humans in a single world.

Next speaker of the evening was Michael Cummings. He said that humanity’s greatest mystery is life itself. It’s not possible to reach conclusion on this topic in the brief time that we have today. It’s true though that many people in their life time embarked on that journey and found the truth. It will be a mistake not to seek their help as our guides. The chaos we face today is because science is at war with religion and religions themselves are at war with each other. Looking at social sciences we realize that every nation since the beginning was different from each other in their ways and that’s how they should have been but it also changed their understanding of life as well. It doesn’t matter if we are made of Atom or are the decedents of Adam, the source of the divine light inside all of us is the same and that’s how we recognize each other. We may seem different but we are connected through the common divine connection. Many spokes. One wheel. Unity, in diversity. Namaste, Blessings, Salam, Shalom. And peace be upon you.

Last guest speaker Mr. Shrinath Devarajan presented his thoughts about Adam Day. He said that Adam day reminds us that humanity in today’s world is still united against the backdrop of race, cast, color and religion. If you think about it you will realize that humanity can survive without such negative realities of life. If we promote love and peace, there is still hope. I strongly believe that we all have the same God.

The patriarch of Sufi Order of Azeemia, Mr. Khwaja Shamsuddin Azeemi addressed the audiences in his video message. He said that all human beings are brothers and sisters due to their relation with Adam and Eve. If you ask people about their ancestors they stop when they reach Adam because there is nothing before that. Adam and Eve are our parents and with respect to this relation I can be your brother, friend or son. You are my brothers and my seniors. My greetings to all of you. Adam and Eve passed our ancestors the knowledge that we are promoting at Adam Day. God gave Adam the knowledge of his qualities. In short Man and Human are two units. The qualities of Man are that of animals. Contrary to that Humans are superior then other beings. Adam is our father and because he learned the divine knowledge from God we have that knowledge preserved in our memories too. If we want to get rid of this life of sorrows and troubles then the only way is to reach our highest potential and for that we will have to become human. We can gain spiritual knowledge from sacred scriptures, we can learn from them. We can follow the footsteps of our prophets and achieve greatness.

As always , Mr. Kevin Pringle being an excellent musician entertained the audience with his music.

At the end Adam Day host Mr. Mohammad Mudassir Azeemi thanked everyone and invited them for the dinner.
